What would a French Housekeeper's surname be?

As I have repeated numerous times, I am writing a historical. There is an important side story where a housekeeper and her daughter vanished about five years prior to when the story is taking place. The mother's name is Sophia and her daughter is named Catherine. I ave changed these character's names a lot but no surname really sticks. So I'm looking for any ideas.

If the house keeper is between 50 and 60, "Catherine" would be a good surname, or "Brigitte" or "Christine", etc. 


if her daughter is between 20 and 30, "Céline" or "Emilie" or "Elodie", etc.  would be a good surname
