Why does it take me to Facebook when I hit submit?

And how do I stop it?

After you click 'Answer Question' and write your response, before you click 'Submit' on the bottom, uncheck the box that says 'Also share this as an update to: Facebook' and then hit 'Submit.' That annoying Facebook pop up won't show up and Yahoo will remember your settings so it won't pop up again the next time you answer a question either for the rest of the time you are logged in.

I have yet to log out though and clear my computer's cookies, so it's possible that the next time I log in, I will have the uncheck the box again but as I said, once you uncheck it while being logged in, it will remember your settings and you won't get the pop up again for the remaining amount of time you are logged in.

If for some reason your browser is not remembering your settings, no biggie. Just uncheck the box before clicking submit each time and the pop up won't show.

Complaints have been streaming in at the Y!A suggestion board already.

Yahoo made a 'default' check in the box for sharing on your submission pages See screen shot http://i.imgur.com/u5tXBCP.png
You can UN check it, and hopefully it will remain UNchecked.

It might come back after you log out though. :(

There is another solution on the suggestion board.
see:

There's also a solution (in that thread^) to the ads that are popping up on questions too.
I hope this helps
Hopefully the techies at Y!A will fix the default on Monday, and this temporary fiasco will be over.
:)
