Does school loans drop off your credit? I'm just curious. Also how do you get a deferment? I just lost my job and am currently doing all I can do to keep a roof over my head and food in my stomach.

Do deferment. I'm pretty sure it doesn't drop off your credit. Are you taking loans out with Sallie Mae? Call the place where you're getting your loan from and ask them for a deferment. They send you the papers and you can fax them back or mail them. You can also go on the loaners website and log into your account and do it online.
