Where can I find real Wood's glass for uv pass filter?

I don't mean imitation Wood's glass like Rosco Permacolor dichroic filters. I mean the real thing, made of barium-sodium-silicate glass with nickel oxide.

Apparently they have stopped making the stuff in the Western World, but they often continue to make obsolete technologies in non-Western countries like India and China.

Newport makes UV-pass filters that are *better* than "Wood's glass."
They're somewhat expensive, but outstanding.

In optical applications lenses etc for UV are usually quartz. Another glass type using quartz in some way is called Vita Glass. I couldn't find much reference on the internet. Of interest is clear acrylic plastic sheet, which has good optical qualities. This is also known as perspex or plexiglass. There are different types of this, some transmit UV very well, and some block it. The data sheet below shows different types, in a plot on page 4. Plexiglass G is UV transmitting. All the above are clear, so transmit visible as well as UV and IR. It looks like you actually want a filter to block visible but pass UV and maybe IR, as in Wood's glass. The filter in the second link below is cheap, and behaves like a woods glass filter but uses dichroic effects instead. It looks black as it should. I would say it is better than Wood's glass if you want a camera filter for UV photography. It just lets UV through, and probably IR, nothing visible.

NDT inspection equipment. Look under MPI UV lights, replacement lenses. All the UV lights use woods glass filters.
