will i be able to open my power point project in school?

We're doing this project in school and I'm gonna be making the project using power point. I'm using a free trail of Microsoft power point 2013 but the power point in school is from 2008. I was planning on sending my teacher my power point when I'm done but will it be able to open when i have to present it? what should i do?

Just simply SAVE AS Microsoft power point 97-2003 presentation

What version is the one at school? You say "from 2008" but what is that supposed to mean? Is it version 2007? Version 2010? If it's either version, yes, it will open at school....UNLESS you happen to use a feature in the 2013 version that wasn't available at the time the version 'from 2008' was written. You see, each time Microsoft releases a version of Microsoft Office, they include new features.. So if you happen to use one of those 2013-unique features, then the older version won't be able to read it.

The safest option is to do a FILE>SAVE-AS and then pick an older version of Powerpoint to save it in.

I'm going to counter what everyone else has been telling you.

You should NEVER save in an old PowerPoint file format. Old formats can only link media, and have reduced animation and transition capabilities. If you save in an old format your media will probably not play at all and your animations and transitions will be messed up.

ALWAYS save in the current PowerPoint file format. Microsoft updates allow old versions of PowerPoint all the way back to PowerPoint 2000 to properly handle current file formats, so for a version installed in 2008 you should NEVER save in 97 through 2003 format. Hello? 2008 is well after 2003. How hard is that to figure out?

Open the powerpoint project, and go to Save As. In the "Save as type" field, select "Powerpoint 97-2003 Presentation", then your teacher should be able to open it.

you should be able to save your project under a different format :
if you go to file, save as, you can scroll down to .doc (your software should be updated to .docx if it's the 2013 version), and you save that to a usb key or send it to a teacher
hope i helped and you can figure it out :)
