If you're serious about becoming an Assemblies of God pastor, then here are the basic steps.
1. You will need to get a good Biblical Education through an Assemblies of God endorsed program. You have the "degree" and "non-degree" options.
. . . A. Degree Options: These include accredited Bible Schools such as Southeastern University, Evangel, SouthWestern, etc. All of these are Assemblies of God endorsed schools.
Also, The Assemblies of God will honor degrees from schools of other Trinitarian Pentecostal denominations, such as Lee University (Church of God, Cleveland TN) or Life Bible College (FourSquare Gospel). But, you may have to take an extra class in Assemblies of God History and Polity, and a class in History of Assemblies of God Missions (through a non-degree program mentioned below) to receive ministerial credentials in The Assemblies of God.
. . . B. NonDegree Options: These include Global University's "Berean School of The Bible", which is a distance learning program. You can get all the training required by the Assemblies of God for Ministerial Credentials through this program. Many AG districts also have their own Schools of Ministry. Contact your District headquarters to inquire about this option.
2. Contact your District Presbyter and let them know you will be pursuing education to become an AG minister. They will let you know what specific requirements the district has.
Remember, it is the district credentials committee with who you will interview, and who will administer the tests required. So letting them know as soon as possible will be a good move.

Joya, Yes, the AG is classified as a "Pentecostal" church. It is nothing like the catholic church. Though each local church is apart of the AG denomination, each church differs in their "style" and means of conducting their services. It is my experience that most would be what you are used to. Many are very lively in their praise/worship and preaching. However, many are very tame. The AG also believes in speaking in tongues. Below is the link to the AG web site, and a couple of AG church service that are typical. Hope this helps. Elder Greg (((SFCU)))

Odd to think that God cares enough about your career to "call" you to it, but does NOT care enough to provide you with a clear guidance, leaving you to ask a hundred or a thousand strangers, some of whom are inclined to see your choice as being based on self-delusion.
