Both of those people are Atheists. So, if you're asking the question pertaining to Atheism, then yes, Atheist Ayn Rand wrote the playbook for Atheist Barack Hussein Obama.

I assume the questioner is referring to the uncanny parallels between Rand's epic novel "Atlas Shrugged" and the current news headlines. In particular, I assume the question is motivated by the pattern of increasing desperation by our authorities in the face of the obvious decay of the economic and social system. The more problems we have, the more government officials flail away with their attempts to stem the bleeding by increasing government control ... and the more this fails to address the problems.

I have studied Rand quite a bit, and would posit that she would not be surprised by this at all. The plot for Atlas shrugged was conceived based on her deep understanding of the nature of human social systems, and she saw all of the philosophical underpinnings of a doomed society in America of the 1950s (and beyond). She did not believe that decay was inevitable, but she knew what shape it would take if it came.

As for the answer that criticizes Rand as hypocritical for accepting Social Security and Medicare, this is an illogical canard. Rand objected to those programs on principle, which means she objected to having her wealth confiscated by government force in the first place. She saw getting a small fraction of that wealth back as a partial recompense. She explicitly addressed the issue of accepting government "grants" in a mixed economy in her writings:

Hahahaha, it's actually true because the book is a warning for shitty tyrannical Soviet Union style of government that Obama is implementing that Ayn grew up around and hated. That's hilarious especially since nobody else gets the joke, the joke being we were warned about this nonsense and people still don't listen.

Ayn Rand, who complained about socialism but had no problem accepting Social Security. That Ayn Rand. I think she wrote the playbook for hypocritical conservatives.

Maybe that's happening in Opposite Land, but here in the real world, absolutely not.
