My Blu Ray movie plays the previews, but not the movie - what's wrong?

I just received Argo and Silver Linings Playbook in the mail today after I bought them off EBay. I watched Argo and there was no problems, but when I tried watching Silver Linings Playbook it played all of the previews and then the screen just went black. At this point the Blu Ray player became unresponsive for the most part as well. I restarted it and tried again but the same things keeps happening. Both of the movies were sealed brand new, so is it more likely something is wrong with the disc or the Blu Ray player? I have a Samsung BD-P1400.

Verify that your player's firmware is up-to-date.  Updating the firmware is necessary because Blu-Ray uses a dynamic copy protection that needs to updated periodically as it changes for new movies.

If you player is up-to-date, your disc is probably bad and you should contact the seller to get a replacment.  As a last resort, if they are uncooperative eBay may be able to provide help in resolving the matter.

Take the participant and your receipt again to the keep and get a compensation. there is not any reason a clean Blue Ray participant could attempt this. Hurry before your refund time runs out!

If the problem only happens on one disc, and other discs work fine, then it is logical to conclude that it is that one disc that is faulty.
