Will bringing in Geno Smith be good, or bad for Mark Sanchez?
It seems like every time a team brings in a young QB to compete for a job with their starter I hear talk about how it will shatter the confidence of the current QB and I'm not sure I really buy into it. If you have a guy who's confidence is that frail maybe he shouldn't be your starter anyway. It seems I remember that Drew Brees didn't step his game up until the Chargers brought in Phillip Rivers. I have never really been on the Mark Sanchez bandwagon but maybe bringing competition will help him rather than hurt him.

For a lot of players, healthy competition is only a good thing. For the 49ers, for example, every position is up for grabs during the preseason. Harbaugh even brings in 2-3 punters, despite Andy Lee being the best punter in the NFL. However, I don't think it will be good for Sanchez. Sanchez has shown himself to be a fragile little special snowflake, prone to sulking and a bruised ego at even the slightest sign turbulence. This is likely the beginning of the end for him.
They already brought in competition last year with Tebow and Sanchez had arguably his worst year ever. And you can't blame it all on not having anyone to throw to because he didn't even come close to getting the ball to his recievers most of the time.
Sanchez is a bust, no if's and's or but's about it. He should not be the starting QB on any football team. I don't think it will be good or bad for him personally. He can't get any worse than last year, and he's been in the league long enough that i don't think he's going to break out into the next peyton manning anytime soon no matter what.
It should be good, at least for the Jets anyway. Legit competition will either push Sanchez to improve or will help push him out the door. But the bigger problem still remains, which is a lack of talent at the skill positions for the Jets.
He would be unable to be decrease do to his settlement, in the event that they cut up the penalty up they might have the skill to decrease him, i've got self assurance what the Jets experience maximum mushy with as we communicate could be a million Garrard 2 Geno 3 McElroy.
