Do you think it's cruel to keep large birds in cages?

Particularly Parrots like Cockatoo's.
I'm Australian, and around my home we have a large flock of around 100.
Seeing them fly around, being social, eating the seed I give them, it's quite a frill and I can't imagine keeping one locked up in a cage.
How do you feel?

No bird should be kept locked up in a cage all the time.

If they're not in an aviary, parrots need out-of-the cage time. If you have their wings properly clipped (very important), you can have them on stands / playpens in the house.

Use common sense. Don't expose them to danger -- e.g dogs & cats, open windows, etc.

hi, i in my view think of this is merciless to maintain any animal in a cage! i assume the question you may desire to ask is, what style of cage is the final? i think of, in the event that they're to be in a cage, the bigger that's, the extra suitable! they might desire to be waiting to fly around or a minimal of routines their wings while they like to. I even have 2 weero's which do not stay in a cage. I even have 2 twenty eights that have been rehabilitated and may't be enable decrease back into the wild and that i made them the main important aviary i might desire to have sufficient funds! And this is totally delicate for them. So delicate that they consistently come decrease back while they're out. additionally I even have 2 budgies i tend to reproduce from. I recycled a toddlers cot right into a luxurious aviary for them. It even has grass contained in the backside and gets air-conditioning! here the place i'm gets very heat forty 3+Celsius in Australia outback, I do have a canary that i offered from the community puppy keep. I promised myself that i does not purchase returned style there, yet I went in there sooner or later and he replaced into making a music so superbly and seeing him contained in the cage he replaced into in made me sense sorry for him. I knew that he could be extra suitable off in my care than cooped up. No sunlight to loosen up in and in all likelihood infested. Yup, effective sufficient, he replaced into and that i'm treating him on the 2nd. once I even have him decrease back in sturdy wellness i will positioned him in a super cage which i'm making (yet another cot) after which i gets him a mate. You too could make a super cage. you are going to be able to lead them to out of almost something and you are going to be able to make it tradition, on your liking. Salvage locations have issues you ought to use, you would be stunned the place you hit upon issues once you actually look. I even have heard of canaries being tame. under no circumstances tried it nevertheless. sturdy good fortune

it depends on how big the cage is if it can fly around its all right but you might notices some wild birds around and don't get a wild one but one from a breeder because there then used to people around and get some of the flea and mite sprays

The only reason birds are put in cages is to sell and make money. Who gave right to do this is what we should be asking

as long as it is allowed out of the cage to fly and andventure around a bit it's not terrible but i still think a cage is no flace for a flying bird
