Where to start on customizing my 97 Honda civic LX?

I'm thinking of turning my Honda into a drag car. Not something to compeat with mussel cars but other other cars that are capable of 120+mph. I know to start small but I'm not sure how small. Should I start with a chip or something mechanical? It's tempting to try and convert it to a dohc but that will mess with my timing. A friend has told me to go with exhaust but I'm not so sure that it will make that much difference or what the optimum size is for speed. This is my daily driver so I want it to remain street legal but be powerful enough for drag strips so it's not going to be over powered.

First find out your engine and if you want to keep it then check out bisi's website and give them a call.

They build the best Honda drag cars and have all the performance parts you'll need to both build up and boost your engine for the best power and durability.

Sounds like you would want to get 2.4 cams, a T3/T4 turbo, a universal ems, aem's water/methanol injection kit and everything else you'll need to go with it such as, intakes and manifolds, engine damper, pro shock springs, coils, rods, fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel regulator, boost controls, pistons, blow off valve, wastegate, clutch, cam gears, head gasket ect.. it won't be cheap but it'll be worth it.

And I only recommend the water/methanol injection kit since you are going to use as your car to drag and as your dd, it will help prevent your engine from detonation while driving.

Are u aware Hondas have high death rates because of racing. Its not a sports car, buy a bimmer if u want to be safe at high speeds

lol, u need like 7 grand. u will need to redo everything on ur car. maybe even engine. but u should start with things like intake and exaust, maybe suspension. but in the end its things like engine and turbo. first u gotta make sure ur car can handle the hp
