Is powdered Whey Protein good after expiration?

I have a bottle of powdered vanilla Whey Protein that has been opened and has an expiration of one and a half years ago. It looks and smells okay. Is it still safe to use?

It takes alot for it to spoil, I have used it for 3 months past the best before date.
