How to calculate gpa?

I just finished my freshman year and want to know my GPA. At semester, I was 88 out of 626 people in our class. Hopefully I didn't drop, but I think I did.
On the semester transcript it says:
GPA 4.728
100 Point GPA 91.571
6.0 Scale(Weighted 5.0 Scale) 4.728
Unweighted 4.0 GPA 3.714
Weighted 4.0 GPA 4.2857

On the Report Card I just got my Year Averages were:
Principles of Ag: 93
Choir 100
PreAP World Geo 88
PreAP Biology 90
PreAP Geometry 85
French 1 97
PreAP English 1 92

What is my GPA now? And what does weighted and unweighted mean? And 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 scales?

Also, I took PreAP Algebra in Grade 8 and got an 86 for the year, if that helps.

Most schools use the weighted GPA system, although colleges typically want your unweighted GPA. In a weighted GPA, certain parts of your grade are worth more then others. For example, tests might be worth fifty percent of your grade while homework is only worth twenty. It all depends on how your teacher wants to weight in. In an unweighted GPA, everything is just kind of thrown into a giant pot. Also, in a weighted GPA, you can raise your GPA by taking honors or AP classes, but you can't do that with an unweighted GPA.

Ignore all that fancy stuff about 5.0 and 6.0. That's just a different way of calculating it, but no one will ever ask for that.

To calculate your GPA, you have to find the average of your grades. An A is worth four points, a B is worth three points, a C is worth two points, a D is worth one point, and an F is worth zero points. You find out how many points you have then divide by the number of classes that you have.

For each honors or AP class, you add a point. For example, an A in Biology is worth four points, but an A in Honors Biology is worth five points.

Hope I helped!

Your high school GPA is what you typed because you have only one year of high school grades. Your grades before high school are irrelevant.
