Fable 3: Can I donate money to the fundraiser to stop the evil from killing half of Albion?

So i just got to the part where i have to chooss to either become a Tyranny and save all of Albion or be a nice person and pay for the promises i made but Albions people will suffer. If i choose to be a good person and keep my promises can i donate enough money to contribute to the army to protect Albion? Or does it not work like that?

Please i want to keep my promises and be good but i dont want my people to suffer. If i have to i'll be a "Tyranny" to save the people of Albion.

P.S. if i can donate enough money to the fundrasier where and how can i donate
Money? I will literally donate all my money i can from my income.

Invest in real estate and you can EASILY have enough money to save your people and keep all of your promises. Honestly, I get what Lionhead was trying to do by introducing this moral dilemma, but the way Real Estate works in this game ends up trivializing the whole thing.
