Explain this quote please!?
The mark of a mature man is a certain scar he bears: the memory of a perfect woman never won, or of a once~true love forever lost. However much he may love you, he is only here because she is not.

It refers to a man not becoming mature and experienced in love until he gets his heart broken. It is a learning experience that has prepared him for his next love.
?
"Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all."
but seriously, it is not a literal scar, but more of a figurative one. it is saying that you have not truly matured until you have experienced not only the GOOD part of love, but the hurtful part.
it goes on to add the fact that, if this HAS occured, then he is here with his current love because his past love was unattainable.
