Alec Baldwin can, but Paul Deen can't?

Why is it okay for Alec Baldwin to use slurs against gays? Seems like the powers that be just think, "Oh my, there goes that Alec again!" (re:rant at the journalist who said AB's wife was tweeting at JG's funeral.)
Why is Paul Deen being judged so harshly while Big Mouth Baldwin says whatever he wants and people just shrug their shoulders and think he acted like an idiot?

I think AB is more offensive in his intent that PD was!

Why the double standard? What do you think about the different ways these incidents have played out (so far)?

Not disregarding your answers but didn't really mean legally .. More curious about reaction by companies to distance themselves from one and from people's reactions .. seem to laugh about AB but judgmental of PD.

Take it up with Food Network. They are the ones that reacted to Deen's remarks by terminating her contract. They don't have a contract with Baldwin, so they can't really do anything to him. And since Baldwin isn't working right now anyway, nobody can really terminate a contract with him over this.

How is this the most important thing on your mind? Not the massive fiscal tsunami facing us in coming decades, not the decrepit state of public education, not our tax system that distorts incentives, not the regulatory expansion of the last few decades, not the shrinking of civil liberties since 2001...

No, for you it's more important that Alec Baldwin and Paula Deen are treated evenly.

There is no relevance between your question and Deen's problems, she is being sued by employees of her restaurant for discrimination. Baldwin used his free speech right at one that is (1) gay male, hardly against all gay men. There is no double standard issue.

Welcome to the world of double standards created by liberals and enforced by the political correctness police- the liberal media.

Liberals encourage racial conflict, if you are on team socialism, you are free to make any type of irresponsible and offensive remark & then flaunt your ability to use a double standard to your team's advantage.

Alec Baldwin is very high level in Team Socialism hierarchy.
