Poll: Teenage Crime are parent's to blame?

Parents should be charged for the crimes committed by their children because it is their responsibility to establish awareness of what actions are acceptable and which actions are not.

Could you please give me some pro's and con's to this? It's for an argumentive essay. Thanks :)

Hello there,

Not necessarily, depends on the situation, proves, why and what before we point
this on parents.

Sometimes, parents gave their children enough education & moralities but then
they got influences by current technology, peers & a part of it movies/songs to
they hear so we can't blame the parents here too.

Unlikely to say that if the parents itself is the cause like father beating the mother
and therefore, children see this everyday and they think this kind of matter is not
wrong at all so once they grow up, they commit the same thing and lead to another
crime to another crime.

How can one person say this is totally parents' fault if the thing is --
"Once children is 16 and above, they are as equal to as mature people
and they should have known what is best for them and what is not.

Some kids are raised in a broken family but they chose the initiative to be
different than the father or the mother and.

Meanwhile, some use the same agenda and become just like one or even worst
like the parents itself"

My conclusion in here is:-

- Teenage crime is not parents' fault this is because due to other influential
may lead the teenagers to commit crime. At the same time, once they are
teenage, they are consider someone who can think good or the other way
round. If the parents itself have a problem, they should known better instead
of taking the example to be worst than that.

Thank you :)

No. Teenagers are in control of their own actions and should be taught to take responsibility for the wrongs that they do. Unless they are physically forced to do something, then they are to blame. (Of course, some kids develop mental illnesses/disorders from bad upbringings, but that's a different story)
Have a good day!

No. At a certain age kids should be able to distinguish between right and wrong themselves.

We give enough leeway to minors as it is -- they usually get off with a warning, and some who commit serious crimes don't even get jailtime.

Look at it this way -- if this was in effect, it might increase crimes committed by kids, because their parents would be punished instead of them.

When parents spoil a child and supports him no matter what the child does, this child learns that there
is nothing he can do that is wrong. On the other hand a child is influenced by his peers and can go
astray no matter how much he has been taught at home. For the most part I believe if a child is given
love but taught good behavior and values he will not be apt to go astray.

You can look at this 2 ways
Yes - the parents did not teach their kids right from wrong
No - because the parents can not be responsible for the actions their kids are taking - your friend can be the reason why you are steeling (he dare you or just for the fun of it)
