Taking two math classes in high school?

I took algebra 1 freshman year, but in order to get in to an honors pre-calc class in junior year, I needed honors algebra 2. But a prerequisite for algebra 2, is geometry 3. So I signed up for algebra 2 honors and geometry 3 college prep. Was this a good idea? I just want to take AP calculus senior year because I am aiming for some top colleges and hope to get some scholarships or something.. I figured it'll be a lot of work, but maybe it'd be something to talk about it college application essays.. I only averaged ABOUT a 3.6gpa uw and 3.8 w (I'm estimating) in freshman year, but I am really trying to step up my game and improve to a 3.95 + gpa by senior year. I really want a top college and I want to challenge myself in high school, so how do you think taking two math classes will look to colleges? It probably won't stand out much, but at least it's going to challenge me, I guess.

all of my other classes are honor level classes. I will take all AP classes (except pre-calc honors) in junior year and all AP in senior year hopefully. I also take French. But I will have to cram my fine arts credit and the health/gym credit in junior and senior year.

Hmm... it might be a little bit hard for you to juggle in that extra class along with all of your other honors classes. You might have forfeited a study hall because of that.

Honors Algebra II is the most failed class in my school district - LOL.

Good for you for challenging yourself, and I agree it might be something worth mentioning in your transcript.

You honestly have very high expectations for yourself with all those AP classes, and that is a good thing.

You sound ready for a challenge ~ go for it.

If it doesn't work out, talk to your guidance counselor and you can take an extra class in summer school.

You'll be fine. I took 7 classes, plus 2 online, including 2 math classes. I had plenty of time to hang with friends and rarely had homework
