sealing a wood project?

My son drew with markers on a wooden step stool and I would like to seal it seeing that he will be using it in the bathroom. What would be the best thing to seal it with? I have an aerosol acrylic sealer and modge podge at home, would either of those work or would it damage his drawings and/or the wood?

Many layers of Mod Podge. You will need to let each layer dry completely between coats.

A spray wood sealant like Krylon brand can be purchased from Michaels arts and crafts. It's locked in the paint aisle and you would need an associate to assist you.

You dont have to stain it but you should at least seal it, as it protects the wood. If you like the natural look just get a clear sealant. Its not that hard to stain and seal a wood project, just more time consuming as you have to let the wood dry between coats. If you decide to stain your project, you really only need one coat of stain and you can apply it using an old rag following the instructions on the can. For the sealant, I believe you would use either a old rag or a brush. I think the rag technique would give a better finish though. you can try both on a scrap piece of wood and see which you like better. Hope I helped.
