I would like to see some of you people who talk about riding bridle less on Y.horses?

Indirect reining is very Western however is vital for bridless riding (unless your horse goes off only your leg), I tend to take the neck rope and the reins and if I want to go left, use the reins and lightly pull on the neck rope left so the horse gets the idea and do the same for stop etc. This is not how they are trained though and is only used a few times if I am trail riding or have nothing else to do.

are you talking about riding without any headgear at all, or riding bitless, or with a halter instead of a bridle??? you need to have a clear question before you can get a clear answer.

The horse is properly trained. If a horse is actually trained, you can ride it bridleless. If you can't, you've got more work to do (with a pro)
