Ooof, what happened to the Chevy guys at Watkins Glen?

Paul Menard and Jamie McMurray are the two fastest Chevy's during qualifying. Johnson's way back in 18th. Jeff Gordon starts 28th. Good thing it's a long race. Looks like those guys are going to need every lap.

Apparently, Toyota has been doing their homework on the road course engines. 4 of the top 5 starters in a Toyota.

That's not a bad thing.

Jeff certainly didn't need that poor of a qualifying effort. He is one of the best here, so I believe he will end up being alright, but it only takes getting caught up in one wreck to ruin the day. Being a Ford fan, I'm not complaining, though; it is going to be an interesting race, especially watching the Hendrick cars. Pit strategy is probably going to be key for that crew.

Well, maybe, but TRD also just ramped up their horsepower output, starting last weekend at Pocono. Look for them to be strong throughout the rest of the season.

The Chevrolets may have qualified bad, but one will win the race!
