Are you ready for the return of the #3?

Austin Dillon will be competing full time in the Cup series in 2014. He's driven the #3 for his whole career. Be ready, it's coming back.

Dale Earnhardt Sr. also had Cup Series wins driving the #2 and the #15 so numbers obviously didn't make him the greatest driver there ever was or ever will be-that was pure determination and talent. So, if Childress wants to let his grandson run the #3 in the Cup Series again, let him. It won't make me a fan though. It was actually Richards number when he was a driver anyway. Dale Sr. inherited it when he started driving for R.C.R.

I will be a little surprised if he runs the #3 in the Cup Series though. I'm looking for him to be in the #33 next year instead.

this is a trick question
If I don't agree with everyone else I'm going to get a thumbs down
Since your avatar has a 3 on it if I offend you i'll get a thumbs down
if I voice my own opinion, i'll scare the meek and mild of our culture
oh well you know I don't roll like that, and by my avatar it's obvious
I got my thrills in 2012 when the #2 Penske Dodge won a championship
Now it's your turn to have your fun
But since Brad was the only guy who could make 2012 turn out the way it's supposed to be, he still has my attention. Even though he's driving a Ford, that's the only competition Chevy and Toyota has. And as I always have said "anyone can race a Chevy, but it takes quite a different kind of individual to win in a MoPar" How about if I just put it this way. 2 comes before 3
But I do think it's cool that Austin Dillon will be driving the 3 car. And I hope there are people out there who wore their #3 tattoo proudly, because i'm sure Austin will have an immediate fan base

NUMBER #3 and its history. Richard Childress raced the number #3 car before Dale. I think the number 8 is more applicable to the Earnhardt Family.

Dale...being the "MAN IN BLACK"....."THE INTIMIDATOR"....IRON HEAD has his own history and will always be known....as the guy who said to Bill Elliot and Terry LaBonte....I was just trying to tap you gently! HA!

Austin maybe a great driver BUT!!!!! He reminds me of a Richard Petty Midget Look Alike with his cowboy hat and glasses. ( His Hollywood image is a bit overdone) He is a silver spoon Grandson....so he is really going to have to work hard to prove to me that he can make the #14 Stuart Machine Run like a stolen car going down hill with a tail wind from a tornado!!
Pretty simple...all he has to do is finish ahead of Ryan Newman and Danica each week...and that will show that he is on the way of having what it takes.

I pay respect to the Earnhardt Family...but the Number #3....is a lucky number to some... While a British Racing Green Car...is a Death Ride to most racers. Very superstitious People/wheel men.

(YES, I AM READY IF THE NUMBER #3 CONTINUES TO RACE)

I'm ready for it. I honestly miss it. I hope Austin runs good in Cup and represents the number proudly. He is a hell of a race car driver and deserves to use the number of his racing hero. I would rather Austin be using #3 in Cup than his brother Ty. Ty can't drive his thumb up his *** with both hands.

I think retiring car numbers in nascar would be acceptable just as it is with jersey numbers in other sports. I can think of a few that are worthy of being retired, and the 3 is definitely one of them.

I don't think Dillon will end up using the 3 in the cup series.
