If a person is charged with a crime does that person have to be present in court during the trial?

I am curious if a person charged with a crime could be in jail during his/her trial or if that person has to be in court during the trial

Some hearings (such as the arraignment, motions, or pretrials) are done by video conference, or with the persons attorney appearing on his behalf.

However, the person would be present for the actual trial. A corrections officer would transport the person between the jail and the courtroom.

No, as long as they have an attorney representing him. If not, they'll just issue a bench warrant for you to appear.
