Is it possible that the taliban gassed the civilians to blame the Syrian army to get the US involved?

Since the taliban are cruel anyway, isn't it possible they gassed the civilians so that the US would take out the Syrian army giving the taliban a win to take over? Has the government concidered that possibility? Your thoughts.

Not a bad idea, honestly.

I doubt it, but it would be a nice way to draw the US into a war that could escalate rapidly into an ABC exchange, if the US wants it or not. It would divide our already divided troops up, add headaches to Washington (not that they wouldn't welcome another war to draw attention off the NSA, an incompetent president, and debt issues). It would also be good business for the US, since was is their business, along with killing soldiers who don't know what's really going on. :(

But, unless Syria is involved WITH the Taliban, I doubt it. First, they could shift the blame with ease and avoid a conflict. Second, we would probably know since the CIA tends to keep a special eye on these areas. Well, the list goes on, but I'm positive I don't know everything there.

Probably not. First of all why would the Taliban do that anyway? If there was Taliban activity in Syria, the government woul most likely know about it. If they did it, the Syrian govt would figure out that it was the taliban

They have enuf dissident groups there that anything is possible, the Taliban the least likely as they are busy and located in Afghanistan & Pakistan - for all you know it is just as likely to be a couple of Haliburton employees so they keep their jobs making $ for their company... in other words, people claim all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons - just look at the towers tragedy in NYC -

Taliban are not operating in Syria.

The US government has evidence that it was the Syrian government. They've presented the evidence to the UK and all of our allies. It was definitely the Syrian Government.
