Whats wrong with my macbook?
It's a late 2006 model. When I turn it on its just a white screen for a few minutes then flashes a folder with a ? On it, then, a flashing globe.
What does this mean? How do I fix it?

The flashing globe indicates that it was being booted from a network server that cannot be found...

If not that...
The folder and ? mean that it cannot find an operating system to load. This suggest the hard disc is damaged or some of the OS X files are corrupted.
If you are using a version of OS X up to 10.6 (Snow Leopard) you will need to insert the OS X installation disc and restart while holding down the C key. This will boot the computer from the installation disc and give you a minimal Desktop. From here you can run Disk Utility to check and, if necessary, repair the hard disc. If the hard disk is OK you can then run the installer to reinstall OS X. Once installed you can start up normally.

It's most likely a software related problem. You should take it to an Apple Store, they'll fix it right up
