I went to a family owned pet store and asked for a job, first I just offered to clean tanks and cages and what not, but I'm slowly working my way up. So everyday I work with birds, rodents, and reptiles, oh and fish. And they are willing to work with my school schedule.
But this is going to be out of the blue.... If you end up working at a pet store, please make sure the hermit crabs are in good conditions. The poor things are abused in so many places, they need proper humidity(80%) and temp. (80 degrees). They also need real food! Not those gross pellets. And not iceberg lettuce. But carrots, grapes, turkey, shrimp, and so much more! They love to climb and their owners need to put them in a tank or a clear storage bin with at least 7 inches of eco earth or play sand, and it needs to be at moist enough that you can stick your finger in the substrate and the hole stays, This is because they love to dig and they have to molt ever so often. They need proper fish dechlorinator and marine quality salt mix. I know it's a lot to throw out there, but you sound like a huge animal lover like me :) So I just kind of hope you can help these little guys have better homes. Oh and no painted shells!!!
