HELP!!This guy that is normally hilarious and outgoing acts so shy and nervous around me?

Question

There's this guy and he has asked me out before, and I rejected him. Then I told him I liked him a couple months back but he ended up dating this girl. 
Now I think he really likes me again because he asked me for my number, always makes deep eye contact with me and my cousin told me whenever I'm around him he stares at me. 
He is normally so funny and outgoings around a lot of people but around me he's quiet and doesn't talk barely at all around me and just looks so nervous ish.

Why would he be so nervous if he knew I liked him a few months back and I still do now?

He is nervous because to him you at PERFECT! And he does not want to mess up in front of you. (Because if he messes up, it would make him think you won't like him anymore).
In the same wayyy! Also you rejected him. Most guys (including me) will ignore a girl after she rejects me. Cuz it makes it harder to get over them. So you are lucky he is giving you another chance! He must really really like you!

Maybe because he really likes you ,as we all know we will become a littler nervious before the one we love and we will keep quite in order to avoide mistake .In other words maybe he is afraid to make you disappointed and lose you
