What is the REAL way to plant poppies?

I have hens n chicks(p. somniferum, p. rhodeas. and black cloud (p. somniferum) seeds. When I received the hens and chicks I followed a youtube vids instructions. I got a seed starter kit and water the squares then took 3 or 4 seeds and firmly pressed them into the top of the soil. I did this in about six squares and did the same method with a few rhodeas. I planted these at least a month ago and nothing has happened. they've been getting near full sunlight. I also made a little peat pot and plant some black cloud about 1/8 inch deep and lightly watered. nothing has happened. that was about a week ago. someone please tell how to effectively grow poppies from seed.

I ordered them from One Stop Poppy Shop who is very reputable and the instructions and reviews don't mention any freezing method. I followed the directions but it didn't work.

Were Your Poppy Seeds "Cold Set"- before you Got Them ?! MANY kinds of Seeds, need at least 2 or 3 Months of Chilling ( at 35- 40 Degrees ), before they'll germinate after Planting. When I harvest those Seeds I want to Save for the next Seasons Planting, I'll dry them out good, & put Them in an Air-Tight Container in the Refrigerator- for the Winter ! They'll come up MUCH Faster when you do That- come Spring !! :)

I tend to sow them in the site were I want them to grow. They are a spring /summer annual really so early spring would be a good time to sow.
