How dangerous is having a stet put your heart?

Question

I have to go doc today and he has recommended doing a dye test to see if I need a stet and it can be put in while he is in there doing the dye test.
How often does these test get done and not need a stet? How dangerous if at all?
What is the recovery time for this? 

I am hoping that nothing is wrong when he performs this test, but am just trying to learn as much as possible about this. I am also not to thrilled about the hospital where this is going to be done, it use to be  a good hospital, but last week when I had to go there I saw a great difference in it, to possibly have a procedure done there concerns me. 
Any serious and sincere info is appreciated.

If it is an exploratory angio (one performed in absence an ECG or Trop levels indicative of an MI), then I'd say roughly only 40% or so actually get stents placed.  This is a very safe procedure.  On the very rare occasion that there is a complication, you are surrounded by a Cardiologist or two, a Cardiovascular Perfusionist or two and a crack team of RNs.  Probably the best place in the world to have a cardiac complication. But like I said, complications are rare.

Recovery time depends on what approach the Cardiologist uses.  If they go in through your wrist, you won't be allowed to use your arm for 24 hours after the procedure.  If they go in through your groin, its usually 48 hours of bed rest.  After that, you'll be good to go.
