Should I buy a refurbished MacBook Pro?

I'm looking into buying a MacBook Pro but I don't have enough money, I'm $200 short. My parents won't lend me any and I've been babysitting my butt off for this. I don't want to wait any longer so I was wondering if it's okay to buy a refurbished mac from the apple website? I've done a lot of research and I personally think its fine but my parents won't let me because they don't trust it.

Do you think I should wait what will probably end up being about 6 months to make up the money or should I buy the refurbished one? If you think I should get the refurbished one, could you give me some points as to why it's a better idea than buying new so I could try to convince my parents? Thanks so much!

The only thing my parents will pay for is the Apple Care by the way.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to answer your question.

Purchasing an Apple Certified Refurbished Macbook from the Apple Online Store will have the same AppleCare warranty as a brand new computer from Apple.

You can rest assured that you will have a Macbook Pro that is just as great as you would if you purchased a new one. What you may not have is the newest model of Macbook Pro.

If you are not using 3D rendering/Video Editing/Photo Editing professional software. Then you will be fine moving forward as the regular MacBook Pro is upgradable for memory and hard drive. So you will be fine in making this purchase.

Feel free to show your parents. The refurbished webpage at...

http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac

They come with the same warranty as a new one.

Good luck with your purchase.
