would it be legal to shoot cans with an airsoft gun in my backyard within new york city limits?

looking to buy an airsoft pistol and im living in queens. just wanna sit back and plink some cans without having my door bashed in by SWAT u know? and since im brown it may make matters worse in the present political climate lol. any legal suggestions?

I would think it had more to do with the area that u live in, I would not recommend u doing that but if you have a private backyard and no one is in danger then I wouldn't see why not :)
