Canon SL1 vs. Samsung NX300 - help choose?

They're both pretty small interchangeable lens cameras at roughly the same price from CMOS cameras. Ones mirrorless and the other a DSLR.

What to choose and why?

a) It's easier to find lenses for a DSLR.

b) DSLRs have optical viewfinders.

c) Samsung have a nasty reputation for looking good on paper, and piling unnecessary gadgets onto unreliable cameras.

I wouldn't entertain an EVIL model, not even the superior Sony NEX series - they're excellent fashion accessories, but merely adequate cameras.

Once you're able to get the best out of them, DSLRs will do just about anything you can imagine.

Both types take time and effort to master, but the DSLR is the better camera - just don't set your mind in stone on Canon just yet. However much you spend, you can't buy the skill to use it.

Canon Sl1 Vs Nikon D5100

The SL1 is a DSLR, and it's Canon. Samsung is a horrible choice for cameras, they were never anywhere near successful (even that is exaggerating).

Here's a SL1 Review - http://www.the-dslr-photographer.com/canon-eos-100d-rebel-sl1-review/

Sl1 is on a whole another level! Good luck ;)

Canon SL1 will be a good choice since its an DSLR camera which is light and compact compare to other DSLRs.
