why are stores so busy on rainy days?

i dont get it, every time it rains on a weekend they get extremely busy.

Well, since there isn't much to do on rainy days... people go to indoor stores or even outdoor but sheltered and shop for stuff...

Because the weather for outdoor recreation isn't ideal, people will hang around in malls and go shopping for something to do. Shopping is indoors and they're able to do something rather than sit around inside their homes.
