Will my new laptop support Steam games like Skyrim?

Hey everyone,

I got Skyrim for Christmas on PC but my current laptop won't support the needed T&L to run it. I'm getting a new laptop on friday and I want to know if it has a better shot. I don't mind the graphics being horrible until I can afford an external one but I just want to know if it will at least run the game. All the specs I can give now since it's not here yet are as follows:

The laptop is a Dell Insprion 750
The preinstalled GC is a
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD

Again don't care if it works well, just that it does in some way. The current laptop I have won't even play it so anything would be an upgrade @ this point. Any info will help and a link is most amazing. Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot that it seems the OS is Windows 2007 (aunt's old laptop)

We would need to know much RAM is in your computer. 4GB is enough for games like Skyrim to perform well enough. As long as you have enough RAM for the job, yes your GC has enough power to run Skyrim, albeit on low settings, but it will still run. If you want better performance, you'll need a dedicated GC, not one integrated with your CPU.

Your laptop has Intel Graphics card, which unfortunately won't handle games like Skyrim

One needs to have dedicated graphics card like ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce to play high end games
