So full time workers are only the managers and all the rest of the workers are part time. Is there some sort of loop whole for part time workers? Or is this completely illegal?

Unless you qualify under FMLA or have a union contract or collective bargaining agreement, it's legal.
Especially for part time workers.

It really depends on what the emergency was, my guy had his gall bladder out and he was out in 3 days. Hospitals rarely keep people for very long if they need more recovery time they have a nursing place for them its not like an old folks convalescent hospital but a real place to get well. If the person needs help at home then that would be part of the package.
As far as your work is concerned that is pretty normal where managers are full time and most workers are part time or rented from a temp agency. Your lucky you have insurance that can cover the hospitalization.

Not illegal. The employer isn't required to hold your position for 6 weeks after surgery.

You should be on your way in a week and back to work after a C section. It is basically a hernia operation but the object of removal happens to be an infant. What does this have to do with your employment status? You were probably a weak link and disposed.

Sadly, it is probably legal. This person may be able to reapply and be rehired after the six weeks.
