My boyfriend lost his job?
My boyfriend had worked at another agency solidly for three years, and just switched jobs. His new supervisor was a nightmare- she had no supervisory experience, micromanaged and wouldn't even let him make calls unless she was in the room. When he would ask direct questions for her feedback, she would just write the emails herself and make calls herself instead of giving him guidance.
She had never even done the job herself (she was a clinician who did little administrative work), and his coworkers and the person previously in the position gave him great feedback. His coworkers also dropped hints about her having a grudge against men, though of course we can't prove it's discrimination.
After six weeks she fired him. She refused to give him any details, just saying "communication." It's doubtful the company even knows how bad she was, as she doesn't supervise anyone else. Since it was a probation period, he does not qualify for unemployment from this job. Now he is unemployed and only has $1200 in his account.
Is there anything he can do to appeal this without it being inappropriate? What do you recommend?
Thanks!
