My Church is laid back and many people wear jeans, shorts, sneakers etc.But anyone who is up on stage dresses up and both of the Pastors always wear nice stuff including a tie.I don't have any problems with it and some weeks I dress really nice other weeks I might wear jeans.Do anybody have a problem with a Church dress code I certainly don't if we were told not to wear jeans I wouldn't wear them and wouldn't have any problem of dressing up every Sunday! But I know that many in my congregation don't have a lot of money for nicer clothes and its awesome to see them every week.

This day in age unless its a special occasion not too many wear suits in my Church or others I have visited. The simple and reasonable dress code would be no T shirts, jeans or sneakers for regular attenders but some that normally don't go that might be all they have. The big thing is to be clean modest and if they are everyday clothes be decent.

In showing reverence and respect for Almighty God we should not have to be told what to wear. If we knew we were going to meet a person of importance ( the president, judge, etc.) we would certainly dress appropiately to show respect for the position they hold. This can be done without spending "big money" on modest length dresses, skirts, tops or blouses that donot show cleavage, dress shoes. Men can do the same w/o spending alot for a pair of pants, jacket, shirt n tie, i know of some who have gotten whole suits from thrift store $15... And look very stylish and appropiate for worship, this shows respect for the most high God of the universe. Psalm 83:18 Its commendable to have a spiritual need in this corrupt society, Matthew 5:3. And showing respect for Almighty God in our way of dress cost alot less than the electronic devices many of us have. 2Corinthians 6:3,4
I'm not a church goer, but did attend several years ago after an elderly neighbor's husband passed... She didn't want to go alone, so I went for her sake. Anyway...
This was a Methodist church, and I didn't notice a dress code. One woman came in cut-off shorts, but others were dressed more formally. The youngsters wore jeans and polo shirts. I wore capris.
There is Pilgrim Holiness Church across the street from my mother... The men wear suits while the women wear ankle-length dresses with their (uncut) hair in a long braid down their back or pulled into a bun.
does not look at peoples clothing. He does expect people to be clean. However if someone comes to a meeting at the kingdom hall and he is a homeless person he will not be turned away but rather be helped to learn about God. clothes should not be an issue Take care
Well, you are supposed to be clean, as in washed, before you go to church. And church is a formal gathering,,so blue jeans would not be appropriate. You shouldn't need a dress code to tell you that. Read the rules on attending church, they are in the bible. Yes, even in the new testament. More thumbs down. Saturday is shaping up nicely.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Some people consider themselves ambassadors to the casual, so they dress accordingly.
James 2 1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. 2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; 3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: 4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
