Do people not understand what "Rape" is?
Not to sound like a jerk, but are young girls really this ignorant?
Every day I see a dozen or so questions asking "What this rape" or "Was I raped", that usually go onto to giving us details along the lines of "I said no" "He pinned me down" "I was drunk" or "I told him I didn't want to". There are usually long paragraphs describing details that aren't necessary all the pretty much amounts to a girl being forced into sex.
I'm sure a good number of these are just trolls, but it seems like quite a few girls (it's almost always a girl that asks these questions) are either unclear on the concept of rape (how could you be, we've been told what it is for years and there's an entire women's network "Lifetime" dedicated to it), or just want to make sure.
Athena, I don't pick up girls from bars. I like to know that a woman enjoys my company, not that she enjoys being drunk in my company....
It is cut and dry though. If a woman starts off a story with "I didn't want to and I said no", then it's obviously rape. There is no maybe about it.
In the case of inebriation, I can understand a woman being unsure, however, if she includes the words "I told him I didn't want to have sex" or "I tried to stop him", that's no longer a "blurred line" that's a definitive rape.
