Best chainsaw for home defense?

So I'm looking for a home defense weapon and I narrowed my choices down to a chainsaw. I figured it's more threatening than a gun, and more forgiving, like if I was to apply it to an individual, I can control it more and don't have to worry about bullets ripping through my walls. So what's the best bar size? Should I get gas or an electric chainsaw? Also is there any ways of getting a safety put on it? I feel my kids and wife's health could be at stake if they mess with it. So I was thinking I could just leave the gas out of it, until I really need to use it on somebody lol

If your attacker has a gun you are in trouble.
If your chain saw won't start or stalls you are in trouble.

An $1800 Stihl chainsaw is no protection against a $90 .22 revolver.

Is this a serious question? If it is, I would use a battery powered 14" bar. Slap on the battery and your set, but seriously you'll probably get yourself killed.

Why not get a pistol and leave it unloaded or in a secure place. The gun will always start and no emmissions

Most are good for defence and quite a few are good for de~gate as well!
