22 Winter Olympic Games ended, but what is remain?

As is known, the Olympic Games is most popular event in the World and as is often the case, even who don't interesting sport watch the Games and rooting for their team, but ardent fan try to get to the game. Last Games took place in russian city Sochi. There were a lof of doubts and confusions about this Games as among media, as among funs (if according on questions in YA). I'm interested, did opinion about Russia changed after coming to Sochi (or opening ceremony for TV viewers)? But after coming out (сlosing ceremony)? And what was be reason for it? Why?

I have watched every Winter Olympics since Salt Lake City in 2002 and always believe that the opening and closing ceremonies (especially from host nations the rest of the world does not that much about) can be a real eye opener and that's precisely my view of Russia. Prior to these Games, I had been under the impression that Russia was an autocratic regime (CNN) trampling on the rights of those who live there (Sky News) without any respect for human rights as well (EuroNews) whilst at the same time the Russians were a generous people, waiting to welcome the world with open arms (Russia Today). Having watched both ceremonies, I tweeted at the end of the closing ceremony "I am just wondering if all our mistrust in Russia over the years has been highly misplaced and we should welcome the country with open arms!"

My opinion of Russia is unchanged after seeing the Olympics. I've always assumed that Russian people were good for the most part just like citizens of every country. Russia's biggest issue is Putin, he needs to go.

@Harry - Russia is an autocratic regime. Putin pretty much has absolute power over everything. When it comes to human rights, they're questionable as well. Don't get me wrong, there are many countries worse for this than Russia but that doesn't make what Putin does ok.

The olympics were amazing and I watched about 4 to 4 1/2 hours a day of them, but I hate russia now because they beat the US in medal count and I hate canada because they beat the US in all the hockey games.
