What's really going on?

I've been asking about this for days now, and I know you're all probably bored to death with this, but these are the facts:

I can read questions, write answers, but can't submit answers.
I can't thumbs up or thumbs down anything.
I can't give anyone a best answer to any of my questions, because when I try to click on best answer, nothing happens.

I've had good advice from everyone about how to fix this problem, and have tried it all, but nothing happens.

Even if I'd ruffled a few feathers, I find it hard to believe that absolutely EVERYONE had me blocked on this site.

I've tried going to YA computer section (where I got a few answers, but none worked).

Is there anywhere else that I can access any moderators, tech help or whatever?

I think YA Travel Australia mob will understand if I can't thumbs up your responses anymore.

Thanks folks.
OzNana

I'm at a loss as to what is going on.
I see you're logged in on the USA portal.
Have you tried changing to the Australia or another country portal?

I've answered this before and got it wrong. What seems to be happening is that since the move to purple, everything has slowed down and the page you are on has not fully loaded. I have the same thing sometimes. The answer is to wait, ten minutes if necessary but it is not usually as slow as that.

My connection to the net varies from acceptably rapid to non-existent over time scales of an hour or less. Try turning off your modem then on again after at least 30 seconds. You may get through better

I'm using Google Chrome but i get the same with Firefox. I don't use Internet Explorer any more as I picked up a browser hijacker from an ad on YouTube which I foolishly believed. I can't get rid of it and neither can Norton - at least so far.

Hi OzNana,

Without looking at your machine and its internet browsers, I can't give you a definitive answer. But it might sound like your browser may need to have its history, cookies and form data cleared to help isolate or rectify the problem. However, I wouldn't recommend it due to it clearing our your browsing history and stored passwords.

Anyway, I can help you get the good old green layout back, if you like. It's just the matter of setting Internet Explorer 8/9/10+ to view this site in compatibility view mode, but some things like your avatar picture may not show from your browser running in compatibility view mode. This process should be taken last after Sheila's recommendation, if it still doesn't work.

Here's how to set it to run in compatibility view:
Internet Explorer > Tools >Compatibility View settings. In the blank field, type in "yahooanswers" without quotation marks, then click on apply. Reload the page.

If something goes astray as a result of this process, just remove it from the list. I hope everything turns alright for you.

Can't help at all sorry. As mentioned previously, It was playing funny buggers for a while but it's all good. I have now embraced the purple haze, it's actually is quite good to use.

@Uncle Bob, I can see you need spell check lol.

You are definitely NOT blocked if you can type an answer. If you are blocked there is no answer box. I am no expert, but it sounds like your account has a massive glitch. You seemed to be the last person on earth to be transferred to the new format. Have you tried running on the old format (there's a link in a few questions - I'll see if I can find it and add it here). The only contact email address I have is for the Answers Team -

y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

Write to them as they can check your account.
