Senior Citizens, were you forced to retire at age 65?
BQ: Or do you know someone that had to retire due to the mandatory age?
My dad was in that position but was able to get an appointment until he was 66. The government said that was it.

We have not had mandatory retirement at 65 for men for many, many years and 62 for women. That is considered discriminatory these days and not legal but if an employer wants to get rid of you he can find some way to do it.
An appointment for what?

I don't know anybody that was forced to retire at 65 or any other age.
I was down-sized at 55 and I was lucky enough that it wasn't necessary to go back to work.
I did pretty much nothing for 5 years..... for the last 4 years I've volunteered.

Yet I'm busier than most people who work full time.
