When you join National Honors Society, is it your overall high school gpa that matters or just your current?

I've always wanted to be a part of NHS but I never quite had the GPA. Freshman year, I had something like a 2.5 and sophomore year 3.4 ish. It's junior year and I currently have a 3.7. Can I join even though my overall high school gpa is like a 3.2?

I am in the NHS, and to get into it, you need to show multiple things. Character, scholarship, leadership, and service are the four pillars. It will be based on your overall GPA, your voulunter service, job experiences, honor classes, activities, leadership positions, etc... You will also need teacer reccomendations and to write an essay. That was the case for me. Every school is different on their requirements, but most will be similar.
