"We've already let our engineers know about the problem and are currently gathering the YIDs of those affected. I've added you to the ticket. I do not currently have a timeline for the fix but it is high impact so I believe they'll be working on it with top priority."

Seriously, what IS going on? I like Yahoo, but all these errors are becoming a huge pain for both me and my best friend especially. She's telling me she can't even load her history the way I am loading mine. Don't they even care if people are leaving their messenger? They really need to update it and make a version of it if they want people to stay with their IM. I'm probably one of the few that wants to stay, but I know a lot of people will be leaving if they don't do something soon. I hate Skype, so I won't be going there, I wish they had kept MSN because that was my most favourite messenger, and I don't really know what KIK is, so I most likely won't go there, either. I can at least load my history by pressing Show More Messages several times, but sometimes that even fails. It's annoying how glitchy Yahoo can get. It's 2014/11/23 here.

Actually, that glitch only comes up when your Question or Answers are either a) too long, b) have too many links, or c) has content Yahoo! doesn't want seen. The first two might be legitimate concerns in terms of keeping people from just copy and paste spamming everything. The third one is a pain though--it's basically Yahoo! hiding behind a glitch and saying "Look, we don't want you saying that, but we have no reason to openly filter or censor you, and pre-emptively deleting your stuff before you post would officially annoy you and get you in our faces. So this is the Passive-Aggressive Solution. Please don't antagonize our Pet Idiots. You and I both know that the trolls are paid to hate, and that the people on the India server have Not One Clue What Teh English Is (tm), so just don't try this. You're not allowed to." TL:DR version? It's a fudge page. It's what happens when Yahoo! wants your stuff to go away but then they pull a "derp" when they try to find a real reason to do that.

I have the same issue for many weeks now. But I can access 'Conversation History' via the Yahoo Mail web window, which others have prescribed as a workaround, but cannot access it via the the Yahoo Messenger client application. It seems that many users have the same problem. Perhaps all users are affected. People have been reporting this issue since 2011. I have tried resetting Internet Explorer. I have tried deleting the Messenger cache on my local hard drive. These solutions are ineffective. Yahoo, please add me to the list of affected users. I notice less people on Yahoo and more on Skype and Viber. I want to keep using Yahoo, but if you can't fix the bug, the user community will migrate to something that works.

Well, it's comforting to know that I am not alone, but not so encouraging to hear that this issue has been going on for such a long time without a resolution. At least we have the work-around of accessing the Messenger conversation history via Yahoo Mail. I hope the Yahoo engineers resolve this soon - maybe they are dealing with other internal issues??
