Are their any less expensive digital cameras with viewfinders, not just the screen?
Looking for a "better" camera in the under $300 range. Not a camera expert, just wanting a little more than point and shoot. To the novice, it looks like the viewfinder adds about $200. Here in Florida, the sun often washes out the screen, and you are left shooting blind. Anyone have any recommendations?

Fuji bridge cameras (they only make bridge cameras) all have view finders, or at least most of them do. But understand they're not dslr quality or style view finders. There is a tiny screen in the view finder rather that actually looking through the lens as with a dslr. They work but aren't the quality of TTL view finders.

It lacks the zoom power of the SL300, but has it's strengths else where It keeps going in indoors & poor light, where the SL300 fades out
Another plus is that it's eminently portable / pocketable
although it's out of your price range, I recommend the Canon EOS 30D. you can get a used one for not too much and it's a good camera. I dont know much about camera in your price range though
