How do you get rid of a woodpecker?
The stupid thing starts pecking about 5:30 a.m. I don't want it dead, just away from here. A friend suggested that we get one of those owl statues to scare it away. Any thoughts?

The woodpecker is probably not feeding, he is looking for a mate or defending his territory. I would guess that this will stop in a couple of weeks.
