brake levers reach and length question?

On a mountain bike with V brakes, I want to change levers to a longer and closer to the bar grip lever. I have a teko brand now. I don't need to change the brakes themselves.
Looking at adds, I'm not really getting the full info so far. Help steer me the right way or tell me what you know.

Thanks

Plenty of v-brake levers have a reach adjustment screw: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TFUsZUAI4YY/Tsaz5ioFtgI/AAAAAAAAAbc/FW4ZtIPQdfg/s1600/Brake+Lever+Screw.png
Try that one first.

V- brakes are generally considered to give such good mechanical advantage that you're only expected to need 2-3 fingers on the lever. If you want more you'll just have to shop around for a pair that comes with full length levers.

A high quality bike will have a reach adjustment screw for the brake lever.
