Is nightime temps above 40F good enough to harden off tomatoes/peppers/cucs?

Nighttime temps are well above 40, but below 50 F. Although, there are the occasional days that it dips to ~36 F. Should I begin the hardening off process or leave them inside for another few weeks?

I ask this because fred meyer leaves their transplants outside and its pretty chilly, but they don't seem damaged at all.

As long as it stays above or at around 40 nights they will be fine out of wind.If you have them in direct wind area then cover with a sheet or other material that doesn't touch the plants.Moving plants in and outside sometimes does more damage than just leaving them.Only you can decide which will work for you.

Keep them indoors until night time temps stay in the 50's or move them indoors at night if it is dipping below 50.
