Why are so many posters adding this a&#x2F to their replies?

Did I miss something? It seems so unnecessary, distracting and irritating.

I often find this glitch if I go back to edit an answer. So I reword the answer without contractions to eliminate it.

Posters are NOT adding it...Yahoo is. IF you pay attention, it only happens when you use a contraction. Like when you say can't in place of cannot or isn't in place of is not or it's in place of it is. It does NOT happen every time....just part of the time!!! It's programming error in the html that needs to be corrected. It started when they switched us to the purple Yahoo!!!

They're not adding it. It's an html coding glitch that's been a problem for a while. It seems to come and go.
