Am I miss understanding my girlfriend?
Were both in college, this summer I will be going to Alaska to work. I told her I don't know if I will have coverage but I will do anything needed to call her, even pay a local person to let me use their phone and long distance.
She says she doesn't want to break up.
BUT this is where I am getting confused. She says maybe we should take a break. Then we can get back together when school starts back up,
This confuses the **** out of me and I asked what she meant and she said that since we would be so far away that we wouldn't be a couple any more. We wouldn't be boy friend and girlfriend. She feels like we would work so hard to maintain the relation ship that we would go down hill. So it would be better if we were just "friends" for the summer then got back together when school started back up. She says she doesn't want to do this just so she can sleep around or just so we can have sex with other people. To somehow save our relationship is her goal.
i tried getting her to explain what she meant we wouldn't be boyfriend and girlfriend just because we weren't together. all she said is we wouldn't be an "official" couple.
I don't get it, I don't want to break up just because I am going to work in Alaska from June to the end of July, but I don't understand her logic. To me she sounds like she wants us to break up, she can have a boyfriend all summer, then hook back up with me at school. She says otherwise. Any thoughts?
